Margaret Tilney (nee Grand) was the eight in the circle of twelve. She had three children by the time of 1912. She helped Paul de Villiers and Lucy Montrose go into hiding and get a home. She died in 1944 on the country side, where she was evacuated during WWII.

- Two of her grandchildren are named. Arista Montrose (née Bishop) and Jane Seymour. Judging on the girls' maiden names and then fact that they are cousins, it's fair to assume that two of Lady Tilney's children were daughters.
- In her old age lady Tilney gains the hobby of making crochet pigs which she is proud to state that "I only use angora and cashmere wool", one of which was gifted to her great-great granddaughter Caroline Shepherd
